Foton’s new Tunland E is powered by a 2.8-liter inline 4-cylinder, turbocharged and intercooler with a 5-speed manual transmission diesel engine that produces a maximum power of 85 kW at 3600 rpm and a maximum torque of 280 Nm at 16 to 2400 rpm.

The Foton Tunland E cargo box measures 1.52 m by 1.58 m by 0.44 m, which is claimed by the company to be the largest in the class. It also has a payload capacity of one tonne and a fuel tank capacity of 76 liters. For the comfort of the passengers, the Tunland E has an upper and lower A-arm (double whisbon coil spring) in the front and a dependent suspension without shock absorber in the rear.

“Safety is the highest priority in Foton,” the company said in a statement. So it has safety features like dual airbags, front ventilated discs, ABS with EBD, central locking and seat belt warning. Also, it has tilt and telescopic power steering, air conditioner, heater, electrically adjustable rear view mirror etc.

The Foton Tunland E gives out an aggressive vibe as we look at it. The projector headlamps, muscular grille with three chromed lines, and the company’s diamond logo on top; all of these add more aggressiveness to it. The muscular, double cab pickup focuses on a simple yet modern design and slight premium touches like chrome finishing on the side, side indicator strips on mirrors, and sidestep element. The side profile however is a bit questionable; the gaps between panels in the rear tire section are not very appealing. Foton may have left it for future customizations but the sight is not very pleasing.

Performance

The Foton Tunland E is powered by an inline 4 – cylinder, high pressure common – rail diesel engine with 2771 cc displacement. Tunland E generates a maximum power output of 113 bhp @ 3600 rpm with maximum torque of 280 Nm @ 1600 – 2400 rpm.
The engine comes with a turbocharger and intercooler and 14 kmpl mileage. The Foton Tunland E houses 5 – speed transmission with 4 * 4 capabilities.
